The Knox Shamrock Fest, formerly known as the Irish Festival, kicks off on Friday and spans two days. The event, which benefits the East Tennessee Kidney Foundation, is held on Market Square in downtown Knoxville, and includes green beer and Guinness, live Irish music, Irish dancing, Irish vendors and activities for children. A parade will be held on Gay Street at 7 p.m. Friday.
