Positively Living: Screening of 'A Very Sordid Wedding'
Positively Living will hold the only screening of “A Very Sordid Wedding.” Knoxville of director Del Shores’ 2000 cult classic, “Sordid Lives, depicted the difficulty of coming out in a small Texas town. In the 2017 sequel, marriage equality becomes an issue in the same small town 17 years later. Special guest include Shores, Knoxville native Dale Dickey, Oliver Springs resident Levi Kreiss, who stars in the film, and producer Emerson Collins, who also plays a role in the film.
A VIP reception will be held from 6:7:45 pm with full bar and Texas-themed buffet prepared by Holly Hambright. General admission doors open at 7:30 pm., and the film begins at 8:05 p.m. in the Sandra G. Powell Recital Hall at the Natalie L. Haslam Music Center. An Q&A session with Shores, Collins, Dickey and Kreiss will follow.
