A Historic Evening with Doris Kearns Goodwin
The East Tennessee Historical Society and Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law will present: “A Historic Evening with Doris Kearns Goodwin: The National Impact of President Abraham Lincoln,” in conversation with Gov. Bill Haslam and LMU President Dr. James B. Dawson.
A reception and dinner begin at 5:30 p.m. at the downtown Hilton. Goodwin’s presentation is at 7:30 p.m. at the Bijou Theatre. The $250 ticket price includes dinner, reception and VIP seating at the Bijou Theatre.
Goodwin is a world-renowned presidential historian, public speaker and Pulitzer Prize-winning author. Her epic book, “Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln,” was the winner of the Lincoln Prize and the inaugural Book Prize for American History and also the basis for the Academy Award-winning film, “Lincoln,” produced and directed by Steven Spielberg.
Tickets for just the theater presentation are $35 for East Tennessee Historical Society members; $40 general public; and $25, student.
