Union Ave Books and Friends of the Knox County Public Library will hold “An Evening with Erik Larson,” the author of The Demon of Unrest, a gripping account of the chaotic months between Lincoln’s election and the Confederacy’s shelling of Fort Sumter. Doors open at 6 p.m. The ticket price includes a hardcover copy of the book and entrance to the event. Larson is the author of six national bestsellers: The Splendid and the Vile, Dead Wake, In the Garden of Beasts, Thunderstruck, The Devil in the White City, and Isaac’s Storm, which have collectively sold more than 10 million copies.
