The East Tennessee Historical Society and Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law will host a reception and dinner with Pulitzer Prize-winning author Ron Chernow at the Crowne Plaza in downtown Knoxville starting at 5 p.m. The dinner will be followed by a presentation by Chernow at the Tennessee Theatre starting at 8 p.m. (Doors open at 7 p.m.) Chernow, the author of biographies of George Washington, Alexander Hamilton, Ulysses S. Grant and John D. Rockefeller, served April 27 as the master of ceremonies at the annual White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington, D.C. His book led to the Broadway smash, “Hamilton.”
