Beck Cultural Exchange Center will hold its 10th Annual Libation Tribute Ceremony at Freedmen’s Mission Historic Cemetery adjacent to Knoxville College. The special service is a tribute to enslaved descendants freed Aug. 8, 1863. The special guest is Ned Arter, great-great-grandson of Sam Johnson, emancipated on Aug. 8, 1863, and considered the father of the Emancipation Day celebrations. The event is free and open to the public. Donations and support are appreciated.
