Beck Cultural Exchange Center 8th Annual Libation Tribute Ceremony

Beck Cultural Exchange Center will hold the Eighth Annual Libation Tribute Ceremony at Freedmen’s Mission Historic Cemetery adjacent to Knoxville College. The special service is a tribute to enslaved descendants freed Aug. 8, 1863. The special guest will be Ned Arter, the great-great grandson of Sam Johnson, who was emancipated Aug. 8, 1863 and is considered the father of the Emancipation Day celebrations. The event is free and open to the public. Donations and support are appreciated.
