Blount Partnership will hold its Best of Blount Awards featuring author and former U.S. Army pilot Mike Durant, whose saga was chronicled in the 2002 Oscar Award-winning movie, “Black Hawk Down.” Durant was the pilot of helicopter “Super Six Four,” one of two Black Hawk helicopters to crash during the Battle of Mogadishu on Oct. 3, 1993, in Somalia. Now the owner, president and CEO of Pinnacle Solutions in Huntsville, Alabama, Durant’s awards include the Distinguished Service Medal, Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Cluster, Bronze Star with Valor Device, Purple Heart, Meritorious Service Medal, three Air Medals, Prisoner of War Medal, among others.
