Blount Mansion will host a book release for “Tennessee Samplers, Female Education & Domestic Arts, 1800-1900,” by Jennifer Core and Janet Hasson. Core will speak about highlights of the book, which is a study of samplers – embroideries that are “first attempts at a new technique, color combination, or unusual material” – and provides vivid descriptions of a 19th century Tennessee art form in its many varieties.
