Book Talk Community Discussion: ‘The Least of Us’

August 17, 2022 @ 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. |

Knox County Mayor Glenn Jacobs will host a community discussion with author Sam Quinones on his book, “The Least of Us: True Tales of America and Hope in the Time of Fentanyl and Meth.” The book is a follow-up to “Dreamland: The True Tale of America’s Opiate Epidemic,” Quinones’ earlier work about the genesis of the opioid crisis. Both books are critically acclaimed and in January 2022, “The Least of Us” was nominated for a National Book Critics Circle award for Best Nonfiction Book of 2021. Dreamland won the award in 2015. Quinones will participate in the discussion via Zoom. The program is co-sponsored by the Metro Drug Coalition, Knox County Health Department, All4Knox and Read City USA.
