Constitutional Conversations: Finding Common Ground
The Leadership & Governance program at The Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy is hosting a series of events focused on finding common ground, sponsored by the Boyd Fund for Leadership and Civil Discourse. The kickoff event will feature a welcome and presentation at 6 p.m.; reception and self-guided tour of Blount Mansion at 6:30; and dinner and guided conversation from 7-8:30 p.m. Local leaders will join University of Tennessee President Randy Boyd and Chancellor Donde Plowman for an evening of conversation centered on the country’s founding principles. All guests will receive materials in advance of the event recounting the great debates facing the framers the U.S. Constitution. Dinner will include a guided conversation around those debates, many of which are echoing through the country’s political discourse even today.
