The Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont will hold a “Discover” benefit luncheon at River Terrace at Lakeshore Park in Knoxville. The guest speaker will be Milton Chen, Ph.D., who on his 50th birthday was named a Jedi Master by George Lucas. He is senior fellow and executive director emeritus at The George Lucas Educational Foundation (GLEF), a nonprofit that develops innovative K-12 learning. Chen also was director of research at Sesame Workshop in New York, helping develop Sesame Street, The Electric Company, and 3-2-1 Contact. The Tremont Institute offers education programs and experiences for children and adults.
