The annual Don Sproles Memorial Wine & Shine, a benefit for the Volunteer Ministry Center (VMC), feature wines and Sugarland’s Distillery moonshine tastings, gourmet food, live music, and silent and live auctions. Longtime News Sentinel columnist and humorist Sam Venable will serve as the emcee. Attendees must be age 21 or older. Proceeds from the ticket sales directly support the programs of the Volunteer Ministry Center.

VMC operates The VMC Resource Center, The Bush Family Refuge, Minvilla Manor & Caswell Manor, Street Outreach and The VMC Dental Clinic. The goal for all clients is housing. Utilizing case management and the “Housing First” approach to ending homelessness, VMC assists individuals into permanent, supportive housing and provides the resources necessary to maintain housing.
