The Annual East Tennessee Writers Hall of Fame gala is a benefit for Friends of Literacy and honors outstanding local writers for their work and celebrates the richness and diversity of the written word in East Tennessee. The event includes dinner, one beer or wine ticket per guest and cash bar. Readings and performances will be done by Marilyn Kallet, Sarah Pirkle, Karen E. Reynolds, Sam Venable and Charles Dodd White. The inductees are: John McManus, fiction; Edgar Miller, journalism; Paul Ashdown and Ed Caudill, nonfiction; Dean Dillon, songwriting; Alan Gratz, young adult literature; and Marvin West, lifetime achievement.
