The inaugural News Sentinel Sports Awards will honor area high school athletes at a red carpet gala. Eric Berry, a cancer survivor, former Vol and current NFL player with the Kansas City Chiefs, will be the guest speaker at the event. The red carpet opens at 7 p.m.; awards show begins promptly at 8 p.m. No food will be served at the event; soft drinks and water will be sold on-site.
