Knoxville History Project: Behind the Scenes of the Historic Tennessee Theatre

August 26, 2020 @ 7:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. | $20 per ticket

Enjoy a special tour of the 1928 Tennessee Theatre led by Jack Neely, author of “The Tennessee Theatre: A Grand Entertainment Palace.” Neely will share a lively history of the theater from the days when Fanny Brice and Tom Mix and Glenn Miller and a few hundred different vaudeville troupes put on big shows to the “world premiere” era of the 1950s and later to its time as a performing-arts venue featuring everyone from composer Philip Glass to Esperanza Spalding to Chet Atkins.

Tickets can be purchased at the KHP online store for $20. Proceeds help fund the Knoxville History Project, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.

Pre-screening questions and temperature checks will be done with masks and social distancing (outside of household groups) in place.
