Knoxville Opera: Mefistofele

March 4, 2022 @ 7:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m. |

The Knoxville Opera will perform “Mefistofele” set in 16th century Germany where Faust agrees to give his soul to Mefistofele (the devil). The deal goes dreadfully wrong as Faust’s love interest is imprisoned, but there is one last chance for redemption. “Mefistofele” is Italian composer-librettist Arrigo Boito’s only completed opera, and as such, it is a prized jewel. The performance will include an onstage 50-member orchestra, scenes rising from the orchestra pit, 100+ choristers and brass choirs placed throughout the Tennessee Theatre.
