Legacy Luncheon for the Parks 2025
The 2025 Legacy Parks Foundation luncheon will feature Diana Nyad, who at age 64 demonstrated the power of the human spirit by becoming the first person to swim from Cuba to Florida without a shark cage, a feat that took nearly 53 hours and covered 110 miles. A prominent sports journalist for more than 30 years for National Public Radio, The New York Times and others, Nyad has earned her place as a compelling storyteller. Her story of determination is captured in her memoir, “Find a Way,” and the 2023 Netflix film, “Nyad.” The annual Legacy Luncheon for the Parks celebrates the work of Legacy Parks Foundation to preserve open space, expand parks and improve the overall quality of life and economic vitality of the community.
