Tennessee became the 16th state on June 1, 1796. Blount Mansion, the Birthplace of Tennessee, will celebrate the 226th anniversary of Tennessee statehood with a free-admission open house. Visitors may visit of the house and grounds. The circa-1792 Blount Mansion was home to William Blount, territorial governor and a signer of the U.S. Constitution. The mansion is a National Historic Landmark.
