Suffragist Centennial Celebration Dinner
Celebrate the ratification of the 19th Amendment with a four-course meal inspired by recipes written by suffragists as Mabry-Hazen House and Chef Jessica Hammond of Sister South Fine Foods partner to craft a dinner with the tastes and history of the women’s suffragist movement. Leveraging their domestic roles, women peppered the cookbooks with propaganda for the fight to get the right to vote. Patrick Hollis, executive director of the Mabry-Hazen House, will guide diners to important people, places, events and foods of the Great Cause between each course and show how “good cooking and sure voting went hand in hand.”
Dinner will occur outside and tables will be spaced to allow for 6 feet of distance between groups. Masks are required to be worn whenever you are not seated at your table. Each group will have an individual table and tables are limited to eight people. Wine will be provided, but guests are encouraged to BYO. Seating is limited.
In case of rain, the dinner will be rescheduled for Friday, Sept. 18, 2020.
