The YWCA Tribute to Women, now in its 36th year, honors the achievements of outstanding women in Knoxville and the Tennessee Valley who empower women, eliminate racism and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. The event includes heavy hors d’oeuvres, beer and wine, and the following 2021 honorees will be celebrated at the event: Kirby Deal, executive director of Girls Inc. of Tennessee Valley; Dr. Amy Elliott, scientist at Oak Ridge National Laboratory; Jackie Holloway, executive director of Canvas Can Do Miracles; Rosalind Martin, director of education at Knoxville Museum of Art; Gwen McKenzie, executive director of Legacy Housing Foundation; Imani Mfalme-Shula, lead organizer at Community Defense of East Tennessee; and Keira Wyatt, founder and director of C.O.N.N.E.C.T.
