Knoxville Opera: Cavalleria Rusticana
The Knoxville Opera Company invites you to take an imaginary Easter Sunday trip to Sicily for a concert of sacred music gems and gut-wrenching drama. Inside the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, enjoy treasures by Verdi, Rossini, Franck and Mascagni. Then, become part of Cavalleria Rusticana as a Sicilian villager seated outside the church. Puccini in the Cathedral
Choral music from religious and operatic works by Giacomo Puccini will be performed by the Knoxville Opera Chorus with Artistic Director and Conductor Brian Salesky. Mozart! An Operatic Feast

Scruffy City Orchestra will present its 2023 spring concert, “A Composer’s Sketch.” Led by Ace Edewards, the orchestra is part of the Cathedral Concert Series at the Cathedral of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus in Knoxville. This spring’s program includes Sevillaña, Op. 7 by Edward Elgar; D'un Cahier D'Esquisses by Claude Debussy; and Finish Sketches, Op. 89 by Aleksandr Glazunov. It ends with a rousing performance of Symphonic Sketches by George Whitefield Chadwick. Admission is free; donations are welcome.

Amadeus Chamber Ensemble: Rossini Sacred Masterpieces
The Amadeus Chamber Ensemble continues its free admission concert series with a one-hour program of selections from two of Rossini’s sacred choral masterpieces: the 1842 Stabat Mater and 1869 Messa Solenne. The featured soloists, under the direction of Maestro Howard Skinner, include soprano Rochelle Bard, alto Diana Salesky, tenor Aaron Short and baritone Stephen Morscheck in his Knoxville debut.
