John J. Duncan Sr. Award for Senior Advocacy
The John J. Duncan Sr. Award for Senior Advocacy, named in memory of U.S. Rep. John J. Duncan Sr., honors those who uphold the same support and advocacy of seniors and programs for seniors as the late congressman did in the 2nd District. This event, which marks the 16th anniversary of an event that benefits the Office on Aging’s Senior Citizens Information & Referral Service (SCIRS), includes food, beverages and a silent auction.
The 2017 honorees are: Dr. Bonnie Callen, retired, community health nursing at the University of Tennessee, the Community Award; and Special Agent Margaret Chuinard, criminal investigator, Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, the Professional Award.
