East Tennessee Historical Society Annual Meeting
The East Tennessee Historical Society (ETHS) board will hold its Annual Meeting of the Membership with official business followed by a special membership address from Dr. Warren Dockter, president and CEO of ETHS to review the last year of activity and share what is being planned next. The ETHS Awards of Excellence ceremony recognizes individuals and organizations for significant contributions to the preservation, promotion and interpretation of the region’s history. Eligible projects include exhibits, lectures, conferences, publications, print and broadcast media, teaching and lifetime achievement. Additional details to come.

Knoxville History Project: Birth of a National Park Symposium
The Knoxville History Project's Birth of a National Park Symposium will be a two-day event to celebrate the 100th anniversary of when Knoxville leaders took an idea and created a lasting movement that established Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Some events will be free; others may be ticketed.
